A busy weekend…
It’s been a busy weekend of supporting sponsorship and fundraising activities for the team from Lynda and her daughter leaping off buildings to Arran’s sons playing in two-day footie tournaments and our sponsored driver Jack Roberts racing at Silverstone.
Congratulations to Lynda Perry, our Accounts Assistant, and her daughter Jess who completed their abseil 100 metres down the side of the iconic Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth this Saturday. They raised an impressive total of £640 for their chosen charity, JDRF, who support people like Jess living with Type 1 diabetes as well as leading research into new technology. What an amazing achievement and for such a great cause. You can read more about their story here or there is still time to donate here.
Well done to everyone who took part in this years Camberley Town Youth Football Club’s 26th Annual Small Sided Tournament and Festival at Redwood. The two-day tournament was a huge success with a great turn out with 148 teams taking part. Founder and owner Arran Atkinson’s sons are members of the CTYFC U11 Raiders and U14 Colts teams and reached the semi and quarter-finals in both their age groups. Thank you to all the organisers, we look forward to next year for more footie in the sun.
A further congratulations is in order for Jack Roberts. Not only was he featured in Camberley News last week but he raced at Silverstone this weekend in Rounds 5 & 6 of the MG Trophy Championship. After a five-way battle and after lots of swapping positions he achieved a P3 in race one. Race two took place on Sunday and despite last lap gearbox issues and 11 cars all fighting for the lead, he took P6 resulting in second position in the Championship standings heading to the next race. It is great to see Jack being recognised for all of his hard work and we wish him all the luck for Knockhill in Scotland in three weeks time.
We proudly support our sponsors and our team members and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Lynda Perry and her daughter, CTYFC, and Jack Roberts. Good luck for the future!
