Forays Conquer the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge
In support of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice & the AMMF Charity Arran Atkinson, Founder and Joint Owner of Forays, took on the challenge of the three peaks of Wales, Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan.
With a total walking distance of roughly 17 miles and an ascent of around 4920ft, this was no small feat. The challenge is to complete the walk in less than 24 hours and Arran and his group surpassed this in good time by completing in 15 hours.
In true Forays style, just to be different, they tackled the walk backwards. Where most people start in Snowdon and end in Pen Y Fan, they decided to tackle it from South to North.
Arran aimed to raised funds and awareness for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and the AMMF. Both these charities are close to the hearts of the team at Forays.
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is a care service for adult patients, and their families, living with cancer or other serious progressive illnesses and because the NHS only covers 20% of their costs, they rely heavily on the generosity of their community. AMMF is the UK’s only cholangiocarcinoma charity, dedicated to tackling this devastating cancer on all fronts: providing information and support, campaigning to raise awareness, and encouraging and supporting research. – You can find out more on their website.
