“Climb EVERY Mountain” – In Yorkshire this time!
After enjoying the National 3 Peaks challenge so much last year, our director Arran and 4 of his intrepid friends, undertook the Yorkshire 3 Peaks trek on 13th June 2015.
The three peaks involved are arranged in a triangle, with the River Ribble and two minor B roads between them. The total walking distance is 39.2km (24.5 miles). The peaks include, usually in this order, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, before returning to Horton in Ribblesdale.
A respectable time to aim towards would be 12 hours. However, much to the teams delight, they successfully completed the route in just 9hrs 5mins! A few toe nails were sacrificed along the way but it was worth it for the experience and also for the money raised for Arran’s chosen registered charity, The Fountain Centre. The Fountain Centre provides a caring environment for patients newly diagnosed with cancer. If you would like to donate there is still time – follow the link to www.justgiving.com/Arran-Atkinson.
So guys – what next?? Killimanjaro??!
